Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (sbmu)
SBUMS (Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences) is one of three medical schools in Tehran, Iran's capital. The university's purpose started in 1961 with the establishment of the School of Medicine. The institution is primarily sponsored by the government, and the Board of Trustees, chancellor, and University Council are its main cornerstones. In addition, the university's primary wings in accomplishing its objectives are the eight vice-chancellors in Academic & Education, Research & Technology, Health, Treatment, Food & Drug, Administration and Resources Development, Cultural & Students Affairs, and International Affairs.
Currently, the university has 12 schools that accept students into a broad range of subjects, including 26 sub-specialties, 48 fellowships, 35 specialties, 49 PhDs, 15 MPH, 3 general medical fields (medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy), and 67 majors at the MSC and BSC levels. In 2017, the university benefited from the full-time and crucial assistance of 1410 academic staff members, comprising 209 professors, 403 associate professors, 738 assistant professors, and 60 lecturers, who educated and trained over 12780 students.
It's also worth noting that SBUMS has 5 research institutes and over 76 research centers, with 7 of them cooperating with the World Health Organization (WHO) as WHO collaborating centers. Thousands of students have been taught at various levels (undergraduate and graduate) in many fields of specialist, such as general medical fields, PhDs, specialty, sub-specialty, fellowships, and so on, who are now delivering health-related services to our own country and many other nations.
