Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS)
Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) is one of Iran's main public medical universities, established in 1974 in Tehran near the world's sixth-highesthighest tower, Milad Tower. Since 1986, the University has been under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for all academic operations.
It is one of the most well-known academic health facilities in the country and in the region. In the national ranking entrance exams for universities, its pupils rank among the top 1% of Iranian students.
In Tehran, the university has ten schools (Medicine, Nursing & Midwifery, Public Health, Health Management and Information Sciences, Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Advanced technologies in Medicine, Allied Medical Sciences, and Medicine and Pharmacy in its International Campus), two centres, two institutes, twenty-nine research centres, seventeen teaching and fifteen non-teaching hospitals, and two centres, two institutes, twenty-nine research centres, seventeen teaching and fifteen non-teaching hospitals.
International students are accepted into almost all degree programmes at IUMS, including health-care professional degrees like medicine, pharmacy, and nursing. The Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC), which is recognised by the UK Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and the UK Office for Standards in Education, has granted it premier status (Ofsted).

An undergraduate applicant is a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.). If you have graduated from high school and are applying to our university, we consider you an undergraduate applicant.
A postgraduate applicant is a student who has completed and obtained first-level university study and intends to continue his or her education beyond that level.
A university degree in a discipline relating to the preferred field of study is required for postgraduate applicants.
Applicants must submit their final transcript, which includes your final semester's grades as well as proof of graduation. You will need to submit a final transcript from each institution where you studied if you have completed studies at several post-secondary institutions.
At IUMS, the application season is in September and January, and students are admitted in September and January. You can apply at any time, and your application will be evaluated for the next available start date. We advise that you apply as soon as possible, as the visa application process can create a delay in your university registration.

Undergraduate Programs
A student pursuing an Associate, B.Sc., M.D., D.D.S., or Pharm.D. degree is known as an undergraduate or first-year university student. If you have graduated from high school and are applying to one of the above-mentioned degrees, you are considered an undergraduate applicant.
Although IUMS professors speak English, powerpoints and books are in English, and exams may be given in English, applicants for Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and Doctor of Dentistry (D.D.S.) should be aware that the language of instruction is English and patient interaction will be Persian/Farsi. If you are an M.D., Pharm.D., or D.D.S. applicant and do not know Persian/Farsi, please make plans to come at least one semester before the start of your sessions to learn Persian/Farsi.
